Help get foie gras banned from Vancouver!
Foie gras (French for "fatty liver") is very cruel and inhumane and is made by force feeding ducks and geese
until their liver becomes about 10 times the normal size. Long pipes are shoved down their throats and food is forced
directly into their stomachs. This process is very painful and often causes injuries.
The majority of foie gras produced in Canada comes from Québec where approximately 8,500 ducks are slaughtered for their livers every week! (Source: Vancouver Magazine)
Italy and Israel have banned foie gras. California, Chicago and New York have already made legislation to fade it out of existence. Let's make Vancouver
the next city to do so!

What You Can Do To Stop the Sale of Foie Gras
Sign the petition requesting the City of Vancouver to ban the sale of foie gras.

sign it and get your family and friends to sign. Drop off or mail in your signed petition (even if you only have one or two signatures):

Be sure to include your proper mailing address with your signature.
The address is used by the City of Vancouver to verify that your signature is legitimate and not forged
(they may send you a letter in the mail to confirm your signature... if they do, send
the confirmation letter back to them right away).
Tell restaurants to stop serving foie gras!
Below is a list of some of the restaurants which serve this cruel and inhumane product.
Write a letter, phone or visit them and make sure they
know how cruel foie gras is and that you won't be visiting their establishment until they take it off their menu!
Please be polite when talking to these establishments. They are more likely to change if we treat them with respect.
Many people simply aren't aware of the cruelty of foie gras and sometimes all it takes is a friendly explaination to trigger the change.
